All I Need for Christmas is Another Sparkling Wine: James Martin’s Cheeky Addition
Sparkling Trio James Martin’s latest addition to his Signature Chefs collection is a scintillating blend of Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, and Pinot Noir. This sparkling wine has been matured on its lees for a noteworthy 15 months, imparting aromas of white flowers and fresh fruits, laced with “slightly candied citrus notes.”
Languedoc’s Special Offering Sourced from the renowned Languedoc region in the south of France, the wine not only boasts exquisite taste but also comes in a unique bottle adorned with Martin’s name, signature, and a dazzlingly gold label.
Martin’s hands-on involvement in the vineyards and winery played a crucial role. He personally selected grapes and blends, collaborating intimately with the winemaker to craft his exclusive wines, including this new Crémant.
On this sparkling addition, James Martin remarked, “Creating this range of wines has been a remarkable journey. It’s a project that’s been in the works for a few years, and one I was eager to dive into. Seeing it all come to fruition and be savored is amazing. The Crémant de Limoux is a dazzling addition to the collection, and I can’t wait for everyone to experience it!”
The Evolving Collection
Martin’s journey began with the November 2021 launch of his collection. He played a pivotal role in every stage, from sourcing and selecting to blending, which included a robust red Corbières and an elegant white Vin de Pays d’Oc.
Produced in collaboration with Wines & Brands in the village of Névian, near Narbonne in the Corbières heartland, the range exemplifies the synergy between fine wine and culinary artistry. Each of the 11 chefs in the Signature Chefs range brings their unique style to the wines, enhancing the bond between wine and gastronomic perfection.
Martin shared, “We meticulously selected a wine producer with local partners’ aid and eventually zeroed in on two exceptional wines that embody Corbières’ essence. The food and drinks from that part of France have always captivated me, and these wines are no exception.”
Available exclusively in the UK through Buckingham Schenk, a family-owned importer, these wines are a testament to Martin’s passion and the rich heritage of the Corbières region.
