North Point Distillery Revolutionizes Whisky with Dalclagie Highland Single Malt
North Point Distillery, known for its acclaimed gin and rum brands, has launched its latest creation: Dalclagie Highland Single Malt Whisky. Nestled in Forss Business and Energy Park, the distillery has a rich history of innovation and a commitment to quality.
Taking inspiration from the historical Dalclagie Mill and croft, the new single malt whisky embodies the essence of its motto: “The People. The Place. The Whisky.”
Co-founder Struan Mackie expressed his pride in the new product, emphasizing the distillery’s dedication to quality and taste. “The launch of Dalclagie Single Malt Whisky marks a significant milestone for us. After over two years of meticulous preparation and adhering to our ethos of quality, we’re thrilled to introduce this exceptional whisky.”
Head Distiller Greg Benson highlighted the unique aspects of Dalclagie: “Our approach to Dalclagie is what sets it apart. We’ve selected the finest heritage barley, implemented extended fermentations with Kveik yeast, and prioritized taste over efficiency in our spirit cuts. The resulting New Make Spirit boasts a palette of tropical fruit, tinned peaches, pineapple, with a rich, full-bodied texture, and a croissant-like sweetness. Our maturation process, leveraging hand-selected bourbon and Palo Cortado casks, will further enhance its complexity.”
