Jazz and Whisky Harmonize: Lagavulin Marks Islay Festival’s 25th Year with Limited Release
Diageo’s Lagavulin celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Islay Jazz Festival with a unique 15-year-old single malt whisky. This limited edition is finished in oloroso sherry casks, imparting notes of dried fruit and walnut to its profile.
Jordan Paisley, the distillery manager at Lagavulin, remarked, “The Islay Jazz Festival is an annual highlight on the island. This year, we’re honoring it with a whisky influenced by Spain’s vibrant jazz culture, achieved through aging in oloroso sherry casks. The outcome is a remarkable bottling that marries sweet, red fruity notes with Lagavulin’s iconic smoky flavor.”
This exclusive release will be available solely at the Lagavulin Distillery on Islay, retailing for £250 (US$314) per 700ml bottle. With an ABV of 53.9%, the edition is capped at 3,000 bottles.
