Experience Whisky Craftsmanship: Clydebuilt Riveter, the Fourth Release in the Iconic Series
Ardgowan Distillery Company has launched a new addition to their Clydebuilt whisky series. Known as Riveter, this limited-edition single grain whisky pays homage to the skilled riveters who worked in shipbuilding yards along the River Clyde.
It is the fourth release in the Clydebuilt range, joining the Coppersmith, Shipwright, and Sailmaker expressions. However, unlike its predecessors, Riveter is not a blend but rather a single grain whisky made from a selection of 15 casks obtained from an undisclosed distillery in the Lowland region.
Max McFarlane, the master whisky maker at Ardgowan, described Clydebuilt Riveter as a remarkable exploration of the rich flavors found in Lowland distilleries. He believes that this exquisite liquid, with its unique characteristics, will undoubtedly captivate whisky enthusiasts just like the previous releases in the Clydebuilt series.
Tasting Notes
Riveter showcases a captivating appearance, pouring like liquid gold. Its aroma offers a delightful blend of dark fruit compote, followed by hints of furniture polish, lemon curd, figs, leather, and old books. On the palate, it delivers a dry and irresistibly tempting experience, with flavors of butterscotch, five spice, mint choc chip, and brown sugar.
The finish is both enduring and smooth, gradually fading away.
Price
Clydebuilt Riveter, boasting an alcohol by volume (ABV) of 50%, is now available for purchase through ardgowandistillery.com and select specialized retailers. It is priced at £52.50, recommended by the distillery. The Clydebuilt series comprises independent bottlings offered by Ardgowan while their own distillery is under construction on the Ardgowan Estate, situated near Inverkip in the Scottish Lowlands.
