History
In the past, Igoumenitsa was called Titani. In the 4th century BC, it was one of the most important towns in the Kingdom of Thesprotis. It was a 28-hectare city. Its walls were 2400 meters long all the way around. Its most important tower, which is on top of the hill, is round and was meant to be a place of worship. During the digs, the remains of two churches and a theater that can hold 2,500 people were found.
