It’s not a difficult cocktail to make, but you’ll need a lot of ingredients: lavender, lemon, pink pepper, turmeric, and mango. We need floral and sumptuous scents also in the distillate, so we chose gin. Look for something not too structured, we want to make an aperitif cocktail. It’s an alcoholic cocktail and it’s deceiving, but only because pepper, lavender, and lemon manage to increase the thirst-quenching sensation, not so much because it is an alcoholic bomb.

The flavor of the Pinocchio cocktail is very dry, there is plenty of aromatic thickness, but little space for softness, so it is excellent as an aperitif, grilled food, and summer parties, but also as a simple thirst-quenching cocktail.

Ingredients and doses for making the Pinocchio cocktail

  • 4 cl of gin
  • 1.5 cl of lemon juice
  • some lavender flowers
  • the tip of a teaspoon of pink pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1.5 cl of mango syrup
  • 1.5 cl of honey mix

How to make the Pinocchio cocktail

Squeeze half a lemon and strain the juice.

Put ice in the shaker, add all the ingredients and shake.

How to make mango syrup

Cut the mango into pieces, put in a colander and mash the pulp. Collect the juice in a jar that you can close tightly with a lid. If you have some crushed pulp left put that too, add 2 tablespoons of sugar syrup, close and shake for 3-4 minutes. Let it rest overnight in the refrigerator. Strain everything through a strainer and the mango syrup is ready to be used.
