DharMag April 2018 Baked pears filled with raisins and almonds: a quick and easy recipe to make a dazzling dessert

Baked pears filled with raisins and almonds, quick and easy vegan recipe to make Baked pears with raisins, almonds, and vanilla are one of the easiest, fastest and tastiest autumn desserts you can prepare in your kitchen. The ingredients are easy to find, you don’t need the cooking skill of a god of cookery and the recipe itself is very fast.

To make this homemade dessert, by the way vegan, completely fat free and with very little sugar, we give you one advice. Buy organic pears from a local producer: in this way, you will not have to peel them and they will be sweet and delicious, full of flavor. When you make pies, cakes and muffins with fruit, especially pears and apples, buy real fruit from a farmer. Even better go with him/her to collect your pears. So you will be sure of what you and your children eat and will cut down on pesticides and waste.

And then remember that the nutritional properties and the real flavor are in the skin, so let’s say no to peeled fruit and let’s enjoy a small, big cake!

How to make baked pears with raisins, almonds, and vanilla

Let’s start with the preparation of the stuffing. Put the raisins in a small bowl and cover with warm water, where they will need to rehydrate for at least 20 minutes. Wash and grate the lemon peel, then squeeze the juice. Chop the almonds coarsely in the mixer, then place them in a bowl, drain and squeeze the raisins and add them to the almonds, season with the maple syrup, the vanilla, the grated lemon peel, and the cinnamon and stir to obtain a thick mixture.

Wash the pears well and cut them in half, remove the core and dig them slightly to create some space for the filling. Add the pulp obtained from the excavation to the filling and mix well. When the pears are cut, sprinkle them with lemon juice.

Take a knob of “almond and raisin filling” and place it over a half of pear, then press it lightly to compact the mixture and prevent it from falling down during baking.

As you stuff the pears, place them on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper.

When you have finished, bake the pears in the hot oven and cook at 160 degrees for 25-30 minutes.

Remove the stuffed pears from the oven and, if you want, sprinkle with icing sugar, but they are already very good, and also quite sweet as they are.

A nice and super tasty idea to make this dessert even better, but only if it is for adults, is to put 1 tablespoon of Calvados over each baked pears as soon as you remove from the oven. You certainly won’t get drunk!
